Moving the beads helps learn how to count and teaches addition and subtraction. Playing with an abacus follows the principles of Montessori education, helps develop spatial awareness, hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
How to play? Children familiarise with colours and numbers 1 through 10 by guiding the beads of the abacus.
Kids over 2 years old can play by copying a given example – draw colourful dots on a sheet of paper which the child should then recreate on the abacus. Kids ages 3-4 can learn simple mathematical using the abacus.
