To set up the game, all domino tiles should be face-down and mixed. Each player chooses five dominoes and stands them on their edge so that the other players cannot see the dots. The remaining domino tiles form the draw pile. The player who has chosen the highest double domino tile goes first. The double domino is placed in the center of the table so to begin the game. If no one has a double domino tile, all the dominoes are returned and mixed, together with the remaining ones, and the players draw again 5 tiles each.
The second player tries to match one of the dominoes to one end of the previously placed double. For example, if the first domino played is a double six, the second player may add any domino with a six on one end. The next player may play to the double six or try to match the end of the second domino played. Blanks match to blanks. Only one domino tile may be played per turn.
Dominoes are placed lengthwise end to end, except in the case of a double as shown below. Doubles are always placed crosswise to the end they match.
In each player’s turn, a domino must be placed in the row. If no domino matches, then the player must draw dominoes from the pile, until an appropriate tile is found. Should the last domino be drawn with no play possible, then the player loses the turn and tries again on the next round.
Play continues until a player is left with no tiles or until no one can play. The player with no dominoes left or with the least number of points (dots) on the remaining tiles, wins the round. The points granted to the winner are the result of the total dots of the opponents minus the winner’s dots (if any). Rounds continue until one player scores 100 points. This player is the winner of the whole game.
